Survival On

An Island

Survival experience in eight days on an unpopulated island.

Background of this survival

You open your eyes and find yourself lying on the beach. Not far away stands a wooden sign with the words:"Welcome to this uninhabited island. You will live here for eight days. You will find food on this island, and maybe you will also find some tools left by people who've been here before. After eight days, there will be a helicopter passing by. At that time, please use the international distress signal for help.Ps:There are no large wild animals on this island, please rest assured."

For Existence

The stream

stream

On the first day, you go to the inland of the island to find out if there is a stream. Because you know very well that although the seaside has abundant water reasources, seawater is not fresh water and cannot be converted into fresh water without equipment. But the water in a stream is fresh water, and fresh water is vital to human survival. In the absence of food, you have to survive on fresh water first. Fortunately, you finally find a stream.

A coconut

The next day, you feel like you should find something to eat. You see a lot of coconut trees nearby, so you walk over. You find that a coconut has just fallen on the ground, and you are happy to break it open with a sharp stone. The inside of the coconut contains sweet coconut milk and milky white coconut meat, which you can use to quench your thirst and fill your hungry stomach. You feel satisfied.

The wood

wood

On the third day, you decide it's time to pick up some wood. It suddenly occurred to you that the wooden sign that you saw before said: Use international signals for help. You suddenly realize that you can use wood to put a big" SOS "on the beach for help. What a great idea! Besides that, you think, wood can be used to build a simple tent, or to cook over a fire, etc.

A plastic sheet

On the fourth day, you find a very old plastic sheet on the beach. You are ecstatic, because you can use this plastic sheet and wood to build a simple tent to shelter from wind, rain and mosquitoes. You tear off a few pieces of the plastic sheet, which you plan to use as a rope. You tie the remaining plastic sheet, which you use as a cover, to the wood to make it stronger. After a lot of hard work, you finally set up a small, very simple tent, and that is enough.

A cigarette lighter

On the fifth day, you come across a very old cigarette lighter in the sand. You think, with a lighter, you can light a bonfire at night so that you are not afraid of the cold. You can also go to the beach to catch some fish, you can roast fish to eat. Then you think about the international distress signal. From what you've learned, you remember that there was another form of the international distress signal, which is to ignite three piles of flames to form a triangle, so that you can make a call at night when your SOS signal is not visible.

Wild fruit

On the sixth day, when you are walking around and you see a very low fruit tree, you pick some fruit. Just as you're about to open your mouth to eat, you remember that fruit from the wild may be poisonous. To test if the fruit is poisonous, you apply the pulp to the sensitive skin area—the wrist. After about 45 minutes, you develop a rash, feel tingling and have a burning sensation. Oh! It's poisonous! Fortunately, you are cautious and resourceful, otherwise you may lose your life!

A pair of old shoes

On the seventh day, you get a little tired of being there. You want to go somewhere far away, but you don't have shoes, and the pebbles and sticks on the ground will scratch your feet. All of a sudden, you find an old pair of shoes that someone else has worn in the sand! Although the shoes are old and worn, they protect your feet from rocks and branches, which is great!

A fishing net

The last day. You wear the shoes you found yesterday and go to the beach. You want to catch a few fish to reward yourself for these hard days, but you can't catch these flexible fish. At this time, you find a broken fishing net on the beach, it is so good, you think that god is on your side. At night, you bring the fish caught with the fishing net back to your tent for grilling. There are three piles of flames burning beside, which are used for help. When you are about to finish eating the fish, a helicopter fly by and see your distress signal, "Help! Help!" you shout. You are finally rescued!
